Beneath the tropical paradise of Siquijor, lies a dark and ancient history shrouded in mystery and fear. These rumors about these witches were known during the Spanish colonization during the 1660s.
The witches of Siquijor known as “Mananambal”, healers, from the “Bolo Bolo” tribe, are said to possess arcane knowledge of spells and incantations that can bring good fortune or cast a curse upon their enemies. They possess the ability to shape-shift into animals, allowing them to move undetected and perform their rituals in secret. These witches are also rumored to have the power to heal, using knowledge of herbs and traditional medicine to cure the sick and ailing.
As a writer with a desire to explore and record the unique stories of my heritage, I encounter obstacles in pursuing my dream of becoming a full-time author. I am a devotee of the journalist Graham Hancock, who has devoted his life to discovering our Ancient and Lost Prehistoric Civilizations. His Ancient Apocalypse series on Netflix has inspired me to write about the Philippines, where I was born.
